The University of Wisconsin Arboretum boasts the oldest ecologically restored prairie in the world. Visionaries including Aldo Leopold started this experiment in land restoration back in 1934 before anyone knew how to go about it. During the past 75 years scientists and students have learned a great deal about how to restore this historic native landscape.
