Learn Moreabout PBS online sponsorshipEat your vegetables it's a common refrain today we're going to learn why it's not just healthy for you as an individual but healthy for the planet if just half the world's population either adopted a plant-based diet or cut back the amount of meat that they eat that that would save more than 50 that that would save more than 50 gigatons of carbon emissions a year we are committed to promoting plant based eating and earth-centered living through our programs like you have our market our CSA nutrition education and programs that are based in our garden I am interested in getting one of these CSA boxes this week we have some beautiful curly kale golden beets Roma plum tomatoes dragon mouth green beans candy onions Yukon gold potatoes a watermelon and then we have ginger every box includes a plant-based recipe with the foods that are in that box because the idea is that we want people to actually not just get the food but actually use the food and to prepare it for their families in a healthy way I'm really excited about this week's recipe you take your watermelon cube it freeze it when it's frozen put it in your blender put in your grated ginger and there you go so what's one thing that you would advise people to do to cut their climate emissions I would love to see people eat more locally and eat in season it's just such an easyy simple way to support our health and to support our planet simple and clear evidence shows that one of the best ways to tackle climate change is reduce your meat consumption
