Trump has endorsed Casey Crosby of Lexington.
Right now, she's RNC treasurer.
She's also a former member of the Lexington Fayette Urban County Council.
She had announced her plans to run for co-chair.
Sunday night, Crosby was a guest on Katie's Kentucky tonight on August the 26th.
I asked her why people who might have some reservations about Trump's personality should vote for him anyway.
Here's our response.
I think when we look back under President Trump's last administration, I think most people that I talked to in Kentucky and across the country I've experienced this in my household, too, is our lives were better under our President Trump.
I mean, I wasn't going to the grocery store and paying 50% more for, you know, bread and milk and eggs.
My gas prices weren't outrageous.
I could travel more.
I wasn't worried about paying for my kid's college.
I wasn't worried as much about my kids future.
And I think under the past four years, people become more concerned about pocketbook issues.
And I think that ultimately it's going to be the driving forces with the economy, the border and public safety.
And those are three areas that Donald Trump hand above has been talking about.
And people felt better under his his administration than they have the past four years.
Reproductive rights, though, heard a lot about that during the Democratic National Convention.
You know, a lot of states are dealing with this as a ballot measure.
How does the Trump campaign plan to engage in that issue?
Well, I think President Trump has been very clear on his position on reproductive rights.
I mean, he has said he supports exceptions and and it's a state issue.
So I think he's been very clear on that and he's leaving it up to the state.
Robert Benvenuti, chair of the Republican Party of Kentucky, said this about Crosby, quote, Casey's intellect, work ethic, passion and conservative principles will allow her to champion the America first agenda with the same vigor and distinction as lower Trump.
President Trump support for Casey shows that he recognizes the exceptional political expertise and decades of experience that Casey will bring to the position, unquote.
