The governor is suing to block the implementation of House Bill six.
The bill seeks to, in most cases, prevent executive branch agencies from filing or amending administrative regulations, which are rules for how laws should be applied.
The lawsuit calls House Bill six the latest power grab by the General Assembly, arguing it unconstitutionally gives legislative control over executive branch regulations.
The governor also says restrictions in the bill would prevent the executive branch from implementing other laws, like Senate Bill 100, which would regulate and license e-vapor products.
The case is now in front of Franklin Circuit Court Judge Phillip Sheppard, who's scheduled to review the case again at the end of the month.
