Even though the growth of shale gas drilling in Northeastern Pennsylvania has plateaued over the past year, workforce demand remains high in the industry’s midstream and downstream components, like pipeline construction and refinery operations. Students in the welding program at Luzerne County Community College are discovering how transferrable their skills are to these and other industries.
